TAM research featured in cover story of "Spiegel"

Modern brain research shows: Babies are multi-talented. Even in the womb, children have an understanding of numbers, and shortly afterwards they can distinguish faces. Developmental problems could also be detected earlier.

The German national magazine "Spiegel" featured a cover story on research of early development of perception and cognition in human babies and children, featuring TAM PI Gudrun Schwarzer. Specifically, she explains how predicition is one of the most important human abilities to be succesful in our environment, already for babies. In behavioral experiments, her team showed that babies with previous motor experience, for example acquired by using a walking aid, were better in orienting themselves.
