Kristian Kersting on Europe's and Germany's strength in the application of AI
In two interviews with "deutschland.de", a media outlet run by the Federal Foreign Office, and with the "Frankfurter Allgemeine" as part of the Block im Park technology conference, Kristian Kersting talks about Europe's and Germany's strength in the practical application of AI in the economy.
While the U.S. and China lead in scale and investment, Europe excels at developing efficient, specialized AI models tailored to industry needs. Kersting highlights examples like Celonis, Aleph Alpha, and Black Forest Labs as proof of this innovation. He supports balanced regulation through the EU’s AI Act, viewing it as a strength rather than a burden. For him, AI should be seen as a cultural asset accessible to everyone, not a “tech religion” controlled by a few.
