Can We Trust AI? Impulse Evening on Artificial Intelligence in Gießen

At an impulse evening in Giessen, researchers, including Prof. Dr. Martin Hebart and Prof. Roland W. Fleming, explored how trust in artificial intelligence is formed, challenged and strengthened.

On 2 December 2025, the impulse evening “Can We Trust AI?” brought together researchers to discuss how humans perceive, understand and trust artificial intelligence. Through three short talks, the speakers examined what trust means from a psychological perspective, how AI “thinks” compared to humans, and how transparency and explainable AI can help strengthen trust in AI systems. The event offered accessible insights for a broad audience and encouraged critical reflection on our everyday interactions with AI.
