„Tag der Mathematik“ – conscious and unconscious perception in the brain

Interactive lecture by Prof. Daniel Kaiser on conscious and unconscious vision in everyday life at the JLU

How well are we able to perceive things that are happening around us in our everyday lives? The Neuroinformatics working group of Prof. Daniel Kaiser presents fascinating demonstrations that show that even events happening right in front of our eyes are often not consciously perceived. They demonstrate how mathematical and computational methods can be used to investigate what happens in our brains with consciously and unconsciously processed information. Is it possible that how we perceive the world around us is actually an illusion?
