Hüseyin Boyacı is a professor at Bilkent University, head of the Computational and Biological Vision Group and acting director of the Aysel Sabuncu Brain Research Center. Currently, he is also a Liebig part-time professor at Justus Liebig University Gießen, Germany. His research focuses on understanding the computational and neuronal mechanisms underlying cognitive functions, with a special focus on the human visual system. Using a combination of behavioral experiments, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and mathematical modeling, he investigates perceptual constancy and adaptation mechanisms, effects of context and prior experience, as well as perceptual learning and decision making.
Hüseyin Boyacı holds a Master's degree and a PhD in physics, he was a Postpdoctoral research fellow at New York University, USA, and the University of Minnesota, USA.
