New MRI scanner for Marburg University

New MRI scanner installed at Tilo Kircher's department at Marburg University.

With support from the German Research Foundation (DFG), Marburg University is investing about 2.5 million euros in a new MRI scanner and another 1.2 million Euros in customizing the building. The scanner is replacing an older machine in the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, which is headed by TAM PI Prof. Dr. Tilo Kircher. Vice President Prof. Dr. Gert Bange of Marburg University says: "Top research needs excellent equipment. This scanner provides precise images and will further help us to better understand the processes in the human brain." The scanner will also be used the interdisciplinary neuroscientists of The Adaptive Mind and the Center for Mind, Brain and Behavior of the universities in Marburg, Giessen and Darmstadt.
