Georgia Chalvatzaki receives Alfried Krupp Prize 2025

Georgia Chalvatzaki receives the Alfried Krupp Prize 2025 (Alfried Krupp Sponsorship Award 2025), one of the most prestigious scientific awards in Germany. The prize is awarded with a total of 1.1 million euros.

One focus of her work is on mobile robots with human-like limbs that can perceive their surroundings and perform skilful gripping and movement actions.

Chalvatzaki's intelligent systems are designed, for example, to enable robots in healthcare to adapt to human movement patterns and precisely match their walking speed. She also develops solutions for the use of robots in agriculture, such as harvesting, transplanting, and maintaining hydro and solar power plants.
